Fall Splash Invitational – Swim Meet

Our Club is hosting the SDSC Fall Splash Invitational Swim Meet on November 19-20 at the Credit Union Place pool in Summerside.

Important information about swimmer entries and fees:

If your swimmer is eligible, you will see them listed on the event entries document in the email(s) from Coach Jacques. Often, you will receive several versions leading up to the event as swimmers confirm their attendance or their events are changed. These versions contain only our SDSC swimmers.

If your swimmer is listed on the event entries document, it means they are entered! If you are not planning to attend, you must notify Coach Jacques right away. If they are listed on the final version and do no attend, you are still responsible for the meet fee.

The Fall Splash is a big meet with three sessions – Saturday AM, Saturday PM and Sunday AM. There is a flat rate fee of $80 which includes all three sessions. You will be able to purchase a program with all events, swimmers, and time schedules on the pool deck at the event. If entered, please e-transfer your meet fee, by Thursday, November 17 to SDSCtreasurer@summersidedolphins.com. Please include your swimmer’s name and “Fall Splash Meet Fee” in the e-transfer message so we can correctly apply it to your account.

If you have any questions about your swimmer’s participation in this or other meets, please email Coach Jacques at SDSCcoach@gmail.com.

If you have questions about registration or meet fees, please email our Club Treasurer, Mika Brown at SDSCtreasurer@summersidedolphins.com.

We require a large number of volunteers to host a swim meet and we cannot run the meet without your help. Watch for a future email regarding the opportunity to volunteer at this meet. Volunteering, at meets or other events, is a requirement of being part of our swim family. Volunteers can email Bill Meisner at wdmeisner@gmail.com.

See you on the pool deck!

Fri. Sept. 30 – No practices

There will be no practices on the September 30 in honour of National Truth and Reconciliation Day.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 80 not only called for the establishment of a statutory holiday, but it is also an invitation to Indigenous Peoples and all Canadians to continue to reflect on the legacy and true history of residential schools. This day is set aside to honour all the children who survived residential schools as well as those that did not return. We invite everyone across the country to mark September 30 — Orange Shirt Day — by wearing orange and ‘lighting up’ our communities orange.” —Stephanie Scott, Executive Director, NCTR.
