Head Coach – Jacques Levesque

Mr. Levesque joined the Summerside Dolphin Swim Club as Head Coach in 2019. He is fluently bilingual (French and English), holds a Bachelor Degree in Science Education, and has taught for over two decades in schools in Quebec, New Brunswick, and now Prince Edward Island. Mr. Levesque, former Head Coach of the Club de Natation Bleu et Or (CNBO) in Moncton, NB from 2004 to 2019, brings a wealth of experience in many areas of the aquatics field. Being a swimming coach since 1988, he has received numerous certifications in coaching and lifeguarding, and has participated in many conferences and clinics on topics including, but not limited to, Coaching; International Performance Swimming; Fluid Mechanics; and Stroke Mechanics & Physics.

He currently holds a Level 2 Certification for National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and is currently striving to complete his Level 3.

Some performance facts :

  • 31 national qualifiers from sprints to long distance and on all strokes including the IM;
  • 3 athletes with medals at national championships;
  • 15 years in a row at national championships and in finals;
  • over 1700 athletes coached since 1988;
  • multiple banners at regional and interprovincial levels; and
  • 4 age group athletes attending senior international meets.

Mr. Levesque’s enthusiasm around the pool deck is uplifting, contagious and quite refreshing. He has earned the respect of many swimmers, parents, coaches and pool staff who know him.
