Swim meets

Process for meet entries

Coach Jacques automatically enters eligible swimmers to home meets and sends event information to swimmers by email as Version 1, Version 2, and so on. If you are unable to attend a meet you are entered in, you must reply to Coach Jacques immediately so he can remove the entry before the host club’s deadline. If you are not removed prior to the deadline, you are entered and are responsible for the meet fee and possible late scratch and no-show fees.

Meet fees

Meet fees are due at least 2 days prior to the meets. Please send fees by Interac e-transfer to SDSCtreasurer@summersidedolphins.com.

To ensure we correctly credit your account, please include the following in the message section of the e-transfer: “Meet Fees”, name or date of meet, swimmer’s full name. For meets hosted by other clubs, SDSC submits one payment for all fees owing, so you must follow the above procedures and e-transfer your meet fees to SDSCtreasurer@summersidedolphins.com.

Where meets take place out of province, additional costs will be charged to help cover coaching expenses. SDSC pays a portion of expenses and the remainder is split evenly between entered swimmers.

Volunteers

Meets require a large number of volunteers to operate and be successful. Please be aware of the dates and contact SDSC with your intention to volunteer. An email will go out prior to meets for you to respond to.

Regular clinics will be hosted to train volunteers and there is online training with Swimming Canada. See our Volunteers page for an explanation of different volunteer positions needed for each meeting. Remember: Every family is asked to volunteer at least once during the season to support the events provided for our swimmers. SDSC volunteers will be entered into a draw at the close of the swim season.
