Program Information

The SDSC Learn-to-Swim program is our entry-level pathway for young swimmers developing confidence, skill, and a love for the water. Designed for athlete of all ages and abilities who are not yet ready for competitive swimming, this program provides a supportive environment where swimmers build the fundamentals that set the stage for long-term success, both in and out of the pool.

Swimmers in the Learn-to-Swim focus on developing comfort and independence in the water, mastering basic strokes, and learning proper breathing and body position. Training encourages confidence, enjoyment, and a positive connection with the sport while introducing important values like perseverance, respect, and personal growth.

Swimmers is this stream swim twice per week.

Developmental and Multi-sport pathway is one option within our Competitive Stream. Representing our team colours, the White and Red squads are important stages in SDSC's competitive swimming pathway. These squads are more than just an introduction to competitive swimming, this stream provide the foundation on which performance is built. These squads include swimmers who balance swimming with other sports as as those comitted to swimming while still developing their competitive experience.

Both the White and Red Squads practice four times per week.

The Performance Stream in our competitive pathway prepares swimmers for the demands of advanced training and higher levels of competition. Swimmers will compete locally and across the Maritime provinces progressing to high performance, achieving Provincial and National-level standards, preparing for varsity opportunities, and building the foundation for long-term success in sport and life.
